The STAR Separating & Grinding Disk is a high-quality disc designed for precision cutting and grinding in dental laboratory settings. Made of a hard polymerized resin matrix combined with aluminium oxide and silicon carbide, it is engineered for use on ceramics and precious alloys (e.g., PFM, CoCr) with minimal heat generation, offering a clean, efficient finish.

• Maximum Operating Speed: 25,000 RPM.
• Use cases: Separating (cutting) and grinding of ceramics and precious alloys.

1. Attach the Disc
• Securely attach the STAR Separating & Grinding Disk to a compatible 1.8 mm mandrel and insert it into the dental handpiece.

2. Secure the Mandrel
• Tighten the mandrel screw properly to ensure the disc is firmly fixed and to prevent slippage during operation.

3. Adjust Handpiece Speed
• Set the handpiece to a moderate RPM suitable for grinding or separating metal or ceramic materials.
• Avoid excessive speed to prevent damage.

4. Begin Grinding or Cutting
• Gently position the disc against the work surface and apply light, steady pressure.

5. Controlled Operation
• Use short, controlled strokes to achieve smooth and precise cutting while avoiding overheating of the material.

6. Prevent Disc Damage
• Avoid bending the disc or applying side pressure, as this may cause cracking or breakage.

7. Cooling During Use
• During extended use, allow the disc to cool intermittently to maintain cutting efficiency and durability.

8. After Use
• Clean the handpiece and mandrel after finishing the procedure.
• Safely discard any worn or damaged discs before the next use.
