Fussen Dentrix 50 CBCT is an advanced dental 3D imaging system designed to support comprehensive diagnostic needs in modern dental practices. Combining high-resolution cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) with optional panoramic and cephalometric imaging in a modular system (2-in-1 or 3-in-1 configuration), the Dentrix 50 delivers versatile clinical performance for implant planning, endodontics, TMJ analysis, airway assessment, and routine dental examination. With integrated AI-enhanced software, low-dose imaging technology, and cloud-based workflow support, this system elevates diagnostic confidence while streamlining patient care.

1. Power On the System
• Turn ON the main power switch located at the back or side of the unit.
• Start the computer workstation connected to the CBCT.
Launch the Dentrix / CBCT imaging software on the computer.
• Wait until the system finishes initial calibration.
2. Patient Preparation
• Ask the patient to remove all metal objects:
• Earrings
• Neck chains
• Hair pins
• Dentures or removable appliances
• Provide a lead apron for radiation protection.
• Explain the scanning procedure to the patient so they remain still.
3. Patient Positioning
• Ask the patient to stand or sit in the CBCT unit depending on the setup.
• Adjust:
• Chin rest
• Head support
• Temple supports
• Align the patient using laser positioning lights:
• Mid-sagittal line
• Frankfort plane
• Ask the patient to bite on the bite stick if required.

Important:
The patient must not move during the scan.

4. Select Scan Mode
On the software interface:
• Create or select patient record.
• Choose the scan type:
• Full CBCT
• Jaw scan
• Implant planning scan
• Sinus scan
• Select Field of View (FOV) depending on diagnostic need.
Example:

• Small FOV → Endodontics
• Medium FOV → Implant planning
• Large FOV → Full jaw analysis

5. Set Exposure Parameters
• Adjust exposure settings according to patient:
• kV (Kilovoltage)
• mA (Milliamperes)
• Scan time
• Use preset protocols when available:
• Adult
• Child
• High resolution

6. Perform the Scan
• Leave the X-ray room or stand behind radiation shielding.
• Press Start Scan on the computer.
• The CBCT arm will rotate around the patient’s head.
• Scan usually takes 10–30 seconds.

Important:
Patient must stay completely still.

7. Image Processing
• After scanning:
• The system automatically reconstructs the 3D images.
• Images appear in the software viewer.
• Review slices:
Axial
Coronal
Sagittal
• Save images in DICOM format.

8. Export or Print Images
• You can:
• Export to implant planning software
• Send to PACS
• Print diagnostic reports
• Save to USB / patient file

9. After the Scan
• Help the patient step away from the unit.
• Remove disposable bite stick covers.
• Clean the chin rest and head supports with disinfectant.

Safety Guidelines
• Always follow ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
• Use lowest radiation settings required.
• Never scan pregnant patients unless necessary.
• Ensure proper radiation shielding.
