1. How It Works
• The APL Mediair 580W Oil Free Low Noise Air Compressor Head compresses atmospheric air to provide clean, dry, oil-free air for dental equipment.
• The compressor draws air through a filter, compresses it, removes moisture and impurities, and stores the pressurized air in the tank.
• This air is then supplied to dental handpieces, drills, and other dental units that require hygienic compressed air.

2. Maintenance
• Low Maintenance Design
The oil-free pump cylinder is permanently lubricated, so no oil changes are required.

• Check the Safety Valve
• Run the compressor until it reaches shut-off pressure.
• Pull the safety valve ring to release air from the tank.
• The valve should close automatically after releasing air.
• If it fails to release air or does not close properly, replace the valve.

• Drain the Tank
• Moisture can collect inside the air tank.
• Open the drain valve at the bottom of the tank after use.
• Allow all water to drain completely.

• Check the Air Filter
• Inspect the air filter regularly.
• Replace paper or felt filters when dirty.
• Foam filters can be washed with soap, dried completely, and reinstalled.
• Replace the filter if damaged.

• Visual Inspection
• Check hoses, valves, and seals for cracks or wear.
• Ensure all fittings are tight.
• Inspect the power cord for damage.
• Examine the air tank for rust, pinholes, or weak spots.
• If the tank is damaged, replace it immediately—do not repair or weld it.
